The flagship program of Ifá University — a deep immersion into the 256 Odù Ifá, divination mechanics, Ifá theology, and preparation for ministry as Babaláwo or Ìyánífá.
This program provides comprehensive training in the Ifá literary corpus, one of the most extensive oral knowledge systems in human history. Students study all 256 Odù Ifá systematically over 16 quarters, learning the verses (ẹsẹ Ifá), stories (ìtàn), medicines (oògùn), and sacrifices (ẹbọ) associated with each Odù. The curriculum also covers Ifá philosophy and ethics, the history of Ifá practice across West Africa and the diaspora, Ifá divination techniques (ọpẹlẹ and ikin), and the practical requirements of establishing and maintaining an Ifá practice.
Graduates are prepared for roles as Babaláwo or Ìyánífá (Ifá priests/priestesses), Ifá scholars and researchers, spiritual counselors and diviners, community leaders and educators, and authors of Ifá-related scholarly and popular works.
